Dutch coach Huub Stevens quit as Stuttgart boss on Saturday having succeeded in his mission of saving the 2007 Bundesliga champions from relegation.
"I am leaving for personal reasons and above all I need a holiday," said the 60-year-old after his side ended their league campaign with a 1-0 defeat at champions Bayern Munich.
Stuttgart finished fourth from bottom in the table, five points clear of the drop zone.
Stevens took over from Thomas Schneider at the beginning of March.
Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel and Armin Veh, who has quit the Eintracht Frankfurt hotseat, are among the candidates to take over at Stuttgart.
