King Felipe praises father for Spain 'reconciliation'

Spain's new King Felipe VI praised his father and predecessor, 76-year-old Juan Carlos, for achieving the "reconciliation" of Spain after the civil war and Franco dictatorship, in a speech at his swearing-in Thursday.

In his speech to parliament, the new king addressed "a homage of thanks and respect" to Juan Carlos, who abdicated to hand the crown to Felipe, for "achieving the reconciliation of the Spanish".
