Tokyo stocks up 0.20% by break

Tokyo stocks rose 0.20 percent Thursday morning after the Dow powered to a new record on Wall Street thanks to robust US company earnings.

The Nikkei 225 index added 30.05 points to 15,409.35 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.28 percent, or 3.55 points, to 1,277.14.
