South Africa were 38-1 at stumps in their second innings on the fourth day of the second and final Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Sunday.

Quinton de Kock was batting on 21 with Dean Elgar on 13.

South Africa need 331 more runs with nine wickets in hand off a minimum 98 overs to win the game.

The Proteas lead the two-Test series 1-0 after winning the opener in Galle by 153 runs.
