The actress, wearing an Atelier Versace gown with an open back and a high slit, exposed more than she intended to when she approached the red carpet, highlighting the dangers of going commando before the world's press.
Unsurprisingly Longoria's unfortunate accident spread like wildfire across the social networks, where it continues to cause a buzz largely through the circulation of rather NSFW images.
However, Longoria (@EvaLongoria) took to Twitter and, showing a remarkable sense of humor, tweeted "Here's my dress for tonight! No wardrobe malfunctions tonight!!!" followed by an image of her dress.
The latest offering from the Coen Brothers, "Inside Llewyn Davis," is also causing a stir across the social networks.
The film, which focuses on the New York folk scene in the 1960s, screened on Sunday night. Observer film critic Jason Solomons (@JasonCritic) took to Twitter to to write "Coens' #cannes2013 Inside Llewyn Davis: funny, loveable shaggy cat tale, echoes Lebowski, Serious Man and O Brother, but not quite as good." Chief film critic for The Times Kate Muir (@muirkate) offered the inside track on the film, writing "Coens say at Llewyn Davis presser that they lost the plot a bit 'and that's why we got the cat in,'" a reference to Ulysses the cat, who features in the film. tb/kc
