The new superhero series helmed by Joss Whedon ("The Avengers") will be airing this fall on ABC. To whet the viewing public's appetite to the max, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." bares a lot in a nearly three-minute teaser trailer.
The series will re-immerse us in the Marvel Cinematic Universe of the movie "The Avengers" as we follow the members of the Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division, or S.H.I.E.L.D. for short, tackling strange and as yet unclassified new cases. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, the new series will hit the US airwaves starting this fall on Tuesdays at 8 P.M. to challenge the reigning CBS primetime police series "NCIS," which was voted America's favorite TV show in 2011.
ABC is banking on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." to serve as a catalyst for three other new series, the comedies "The Goldbergs" and "The Trophy Wife" as well as the drama series "Lucky 7," which will be filling in the gaps left by the cancelled serials "Private Practice" and "Body of Proof."
Other upcoming series on ABC include a spin-off of "Once Upon a Time" about Alice's adventures in Wonderland, slated for Thursday evenings, and "Resurrection," to be launched mid-season in the Sunday slot.
