Washington, Apr 22 (EFE).- Five people died in a shootout at an apartment complex near Seattle, U.S. media outlets reported Monday.
Among the four men and one woman killed is a suspect who was shot by police, NBC News said, citing police sources.
Police officers arrived at the scene, an apartment complex located in the town of Federal Way, south of Seattle, after receiving an emergency telephone call for help and a report of gunfire.
Officers responding to the 911 call saw several men, apparently wounded, lying in the parking lot and when a policeman approached one of the men pulled out a weapon and the officer shot him, according to the sources.
Police confirmed that two other men were dead at the scene, while the bodies of another man and a woman were found in one of the apartments in the complex.
No police officers were injured, the sources said, adding that - at present - authorities do not know why the shootout erupted but an investigation is under way to determine that and other facts in the case.
