Beijing, Apr 28 (EFE).- Eight people died and two were injured when a fire broke out on the weekend at a business in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, the state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
The agency said that the blaze broke out about 9 p.m. (1300 GMT) on Saturday on the first floor of a building housing a business in the city of Suzhou, the metropolitan area of which has more than 10 million residents.
Two people perished at the scene and six others died later at a local hospital.
The condition of the two people who survived is not known, Xinhua said, adding that the police are investigating the cause of the fire.
