Madrid, Apr 30 (EFE).- Spain's King Juan Carlos will leave Zarzuela Palace for the first time since a March 3 back operation to attend Tuesday's Champions League semifinal between Real Madrid and German club Borussia Dortmund, sources in the royal household said.
The monarch will go to Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in hopes of seeing the Spanish club mount a comeback from the 4-1 loss they suffered last week in the first leg of the semifinal.
This is the first time the monarch will be seen in public outside his residence near Madrid since undergoing a herniated disc operation on March 3.
After that operation and the subsequent process of recovery, Juan Carlos reappeared before televison cameras for the first time last week when he received in his office the Spanish writer Jose Manuel Caballero Bonald, winner of this year's Cervantes Prize.
Juan Carlos will go to Bernabeu after a meeting in the palace with the foreign minister of Equatorial Guinea, Agapito Mba.
