Brussels, May 8 (EFE).- A total of 31 suspects were arrested in Belgium, France and Switzerland in connection with the $50 million diamond heist in February at Zaventem International Airport in Brussels, Belgian prosecutors said Wednesday.
Twenty-four people were arrested in Belgium, one in France and six in Switzerland.
Some of the diamonds were recovered in Switzerland, the Belga news agency reported.
Police conducted more than 40 searches early Wednesday across Belgium in an effort to find the diamonds.
A group of heavily armed masked thieves stole 120 packets of diamonds and other valuables on Feb. 18 at Zaventem airport.
