Miami, May 24 (EFE).- Colombian actress Sofia Vergara has completed a five-episode telenovela in Spanish that will air throughout Latin America except for Brazil starting in July, her agents said.
The actress, the highest paid on U.S. television for her popular role in the series "Modern Family," wrapped up production of the miniseries several days ago on Long Island, New York, in a "telenovela" house where the Barranquilla native worked with more than 10 Latin actors, her agents said in a communique.
"I had a lot of fun doing this special project and I hope the public enjoys it all over Latin America. For now I can't give you any more details - it's a little surprise I'm saving for you," the actress said during the shoot.
The actress would reveal neither the plot nor the title of the series, her first project entirely in Spanish for several years, during which time she has reached the heights as the most popular Latino actress on American television.
The Colombian actress and businesswoman, nominated for the Emmy and Golden Globe Awards, has been a hit in the ABC series "Modern Family" that is broadcast in 16 countries, and has just debuted as executive producer of the series "Killer Women," among other projects.
According to the annual classification of Forbes magazine, Sofia Vergara was the highest paid television professional in 2012 with an income of $19 million, ahead of Kim Kardasian and Eve Longoria.
