Madrid, Jun 10 (EFE).- Neymar, FC Barcelona's latest acquisition, is an outstanding player and "the world's best players deserve to be" with Barça, Spanish international and Barcelona stalwart Pedro Rodriguez said Monday.
"It will be a pleasure" to have the Brazilian striker as a teammate, Rodriguez told Movistar, one of the sponsors of the Spanish national team.
The national squad is preparing for the Confederations Cup tourney in Brazil.
Spain, the reigning World Cup champions and winner of the 2008 and 2012 European crowns, is in pursuit of its first Confederations Cup title.
Neymar should have no problem adjusting to Barça's system and style, Rodriguez said.
Pedro also had kind words for a departing teammate, goalkeeper Victor Valdes, who announced that he will not remain with Barcelona beyond the end of next season, when his current contract expires.
"He's the best goalkeeper in the world," Rodriguez said of his colleague, adding that he respects Valdes' decision and wishes him the best.
