Bills rookie QB Manuel out for rest of preseason with knee injury

U.S. Sports Desk, Aug 18 (EFE).- Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback EJ Manuel will undergo a procedure on his left knee and miss the rest of the preseason, head coach Doug Marrone said.

Manuel, the Bills' top pick in April's NFL Draft and the only quarterback taken in the first round, was starting to take control of Buffalo's offense.

The quarterback, a former Florida State standout, experienced swelling in his left knee, Marrone said in a Twitter posting.

Manuel, who is considered the future of the long-suffering franchise, played in the second half of the Bills' 20-16 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Friday night, completing 10 of 12 passes for 92 yards and a touchdown.
