Buenos Aires, Nov 25 (EFE).- Spanish world No. 1 Rafael Nadal beat Serbia's Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-5 in an exhibition match at the La Rural center in Buenos Aires over the weekend.
The world's two top players wrapped up their South American exhibition tours before some 12,000 spectators on Sunday.
Nadal and Djokovic played doubles earlier in the weekend as part of the farewell to Argentine player David Nalbandian, who retired from the sport.
Fans cheered constantly for Nadal and Djokovic during their exhibition match, which was played in stifling heat.
After the match, the two players went to La Bombonera stadium to watch All Boys beat Boca Juniors 2-0.
Nadal and Djokovic spent halftime trying to get penalty kicks past Boca Juniors third-string goalkeeper Sebastian D'Angelo.
Each tennis player got three shots at the goal and Nadal won the duel 3-1 over Djokovic.
The 27-year-old Nadal, who has won 13 Grand Slam titles, completed a South American tour that took him to Lima, Santiago, Cordoba, El Calafate and Buenos Aires.
Djokovic also wrapped up his tour of South America, where he joined Nadal on all the stops except Lima and Cordoba.
