Washington, Mar 4 (EFE).- The Republican National Committee announced the launching of three councils for minorities "to strengthen ties with minority communities and expand engagement efforts across the country."

The RNC has created for that purpose the African American Advisory Council, the Asian Pacific American Advisory Council and the Hispanic Advisory Council.

"The National Advisory Councils are part of the RNC's unprecedented commitment to engage voters year-round to build a lasting foundation for future campaigns," the GOP committee said in a statement.

These councils will also work with the national committee to organize events and to deal with grassroots activists nationwide, the announcement adds.

"I want to ensure the Republican Party is building sincere relationships in every community across the country, and our advisory councils will help make that a reality," RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said.

Among the lawmakers who will comprise the Hispanic Advisory Council are Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart, Raul Labrador and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

The Republicans in this way are laying the groundwork for the legislative elections in November with an eye toward the growing weight of minorities in the making of electoral decisions.
