Rome, Jul 27 (EFE).- U.S. film actor Richard Gere has decided to spend several days vacationing with his son Homer in this capital and - just like any other tourist - he was spotted taking a few snapshots in front of the Coliseum, according to Italian media reports on Sunday.
Not even the Hollywood leading man was able to resist the charms of the huge Roman amphitheater, one of the architectural gems of the Eternal City.
Dressed in comfortable clothing - a blue t-shirt and beige pants - Gere appeared to be enjoying Rome despite the high temperatures, although he protected himself from the sun by wearing a New York Yankees cap.
His son Homer - born in 2000 to Gere and former model and actress Carey Lowell - is accompanying him on his Roman holiday.
Gere is not the only well-known personality to select Italy as a vacation spot this summer, joining soccer star and FIFA Ballon d'Or winner at the 2014 World Cup, Lionel Messi, who is vacationing in the southern part of the country with girlfriend Antonella Roccuzzo.
Messi has been staying on the Isle of Capri and sailing his yacht along the coast of Campania.
