Electricity supply not yet restored

Complete supply of electricity to 17 districts including Quetta could not be restored third consecutive day Tuesday. In Quetta six hours load shedding was carried out while in other districts 22 hours load shedding was being observed.

According to details terrorists had blown four pylons of 220 kv transmission line in Bakhtiarabad and Chattar on March 30 and 31. Due to destruction of towers, supply of electricity to 17 districts including Quetta was suspended. Repair of two towers was completed near Bakhtiarabad while two towers were under repair near Chattar.

It is added here that 17 districts getting supply from national grid require 1250 megawatts of electricity while only 320 mw are available. Officials of Quetta Electric Supply Company QESCO are of the view after completion of repair of towers supply would be started.
