The NASDAQ OMX Tallinn stock exchange index OMXT gained in March 9.69% to 838.20 points, which was the biggest monthly gain of the index since March 2010, Postimees Online reports.
In the first quarter of this year, the index gained 14.17%, which is rather close to the average of the first quarters of years, 14.61%.
Among main list shares, 9 gained in the first quarter, 3 fell and the star share of the previous two years, Silvano PG, was at the same level as at the end of last year.
The biggest gain in the first quarter was posted by Baltika's share with 29.8%, as the company reached a profit for the first time after four years of losses. Shares of Merko Ehitus and Tallink also posted a gain of more than 20%.
The share of Arco Vara managed to lose a quarter of its value in three months. The shares of Harju Elekter (-1.5%) and Skano also fell.
