Emirates Identity Authority and "Abu Dhabi Local Departments Takaful Fund" signed a strategic partnership agreement to adopt the "Smart" ID card and activate it as a main and permanent source of data for the people benefiting from the services provided by the fund, in order to improve processes and facilitate procedures and develop customer services, by utilizing the data and information provided by the authority for identity authentication and individuals' identity verifications purposes.
This agreement comes out of the keenness by both parties to support and reinforce the strategic partnership relations already effectively established between the two, contributing to fulfilling the needs of the Emirate community and reflecting positively on economic and social levels, and achieving public interest.
The signing ceremony took place at the authority's headquarter in Abu Dhabi, with the presence of Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Director General of Emirates Identity Authority, and Salem Saeed Al Katheri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Local Departments Takaful Fund.
The agreement states building effective partnership between the parties to achieve the mutual strategic goals of improving processes, simplify procedures, develop customer service and exchange institutional knowledge, experience, expertise opinion and consultancy to support the institutional development and upgrade.
The agreement included that the authority would encourage and motivate its employees to become members in the fund in order to contribute to the success of the fund's new campaign which will be launched under the slogan "Together to reinforce values of Solidarity in the society".
Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Director General of Emirates Identity Authority said that signing this agreement with "Abu Dhabi Local Departments Takaful Fund" comes under the authority's everlasting keenness to effectively contribute in the march of economical and social development and growth witnessed by the country, as well as its relentless quest to provide a comprehensive and accurate population register characterized with the highest levels of security, and help the UAE government to make strategic decisions and spread the digital society culture.
Dr. Al Khouri pointed that this agreement will contribute to supporting the services provided by the fund, like the case with other authorities and institutions that have benefited from the comprehensive electronic system developed by the authority to manage the process of personal identity authentication, supporting the country's direction towards building a competitive economy through the federal government plan 2012-2014, and establish a society enjoying the best levels of good living.
From his side, Salem Saeed Al Khatheri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Local Departments Takaful Fund, said that signing the partnership agreement between the fund and Emirates Identity Authority comes of the importance of the ID card as strategic document indispensable for both, the resident and the expat, as being the personality identification mean adopted in the majority of authorities and institutions across the country, as well as its contribution to facilitating and simplifying the government processes.
Al Khatheri pointed that the partnership agreement provides "Takaful Fund" the necessary support for the best use of the ID card in all its transactions with fund members and other customers of the fund, as it provides accurate information about the identity of the customers and contribute in preserving the rights of all involved parties, clarifying that the Takaful Fund have imposed on all its departments and sections to adopt the "Smart" ID card and activate it as the main and permanent source of data for the beneficiaries of the services provided by the fund.
Under the agreement, Emirates ID will provide necessary facilitations to enable the fund of opening 2 offices to complete the ID card transactions in Abu Dhabi and Khalifa City, and provide them with necessary tools and equipments for that, and train and qualify the team that is going to be allocated by the fund for both offices, as well as providing necessary support for exhibitions and social activities organized by the fund.
Also under the agreement, the authority is to provide necessary technical support with regards to integration with the fund's infrastructure, providing the necessary technical applications to read the data stored at the ID card, in addition to managing the unified ID for the purpose of customers' identity verifications.
The fund will develop the necessary applications for the integration with the infrastructure of the identity electronic applications project and the electronic authentication center for the purpose of verifying the identity of the beneficiaries from the electronic services and verify the credibility of the ID card, and activate the use of the ID on a number of services provided to the customers.
It is noteworthy that the majority of the government and semi-government bodies in the country are adopting the ID card, as a result of the efforts placed by the emirates identity authority to achieve the goals of its strategic goals 2010-2013, in making the ID card the most valuable and most important official document in the country.
