Konul Kamilgizi; The 7th International Environmental Project Olympiad (INEPO-Euroasia) has kicked off in Baku today. APA reports that the international Olympiad is organized by the Ministry of Education, IDEA, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic, Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (ITV), Cag Ogretim Isletmeleri Company and International Environmental Project Olympiad (INEPO-Euroasia).
Vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, department chief of the Presidential Administration Elnur Aslanov, SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev and other persons are attending the opening of the Olympiad. The Olympiad aims to educate young people on solution of growing ecological problem in the world and Azerbaijan and environmental protection and improve the pupils’ environmental consciousness.
Leyla Aliyeva made a keynote speech at the Olympiad. Following this, she has been awarded with a special prize by the organizing committee of the International Environmental Project Olympiad.
500 participants from 45 countries will compete at the 7th International Environmental Project Olympiad (INEPO-Euroasia). Along with Azerbaijan, in 2013, 22 of 625 projects from 45 countries and 214 projects from Azerbaijan’s secondary schools were submitted. 78 of them passed the next stage.
