Azerbaijan invests over $1.2 bn in development of national aviation

Nijat Mustafayev; To the present day, Azerbaijan invested AZN 956.3 mln (about 1.226 billion dollars) to the national aviation and air fleets, Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov told in interview to The Business Year, APA-Economics reports.

To him, over the past few years, the air fleet of Azerbaijan hassignificantly developed. Thus, new Boeing, Airbus aircrafts and helicopters wee added to the fleet.

‘A new international airport was built in Gabala and the airports in Nakhchivan, Ganja, Lankaran and Zagatala were repaired. At present, construction of a new terminal, runway and four hangars is being carried out at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. At the same time, work are being continued at the fleet’.
