Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) held a ceremony on Thursday for an infantry unit to be deployed to Afghanistan for peace-keeping mission.
Deputy Defense Minister Mirko Okolic attended the ceremony at the Kozara barracks in Banja Luka, capital city of Republika Srpska (RS), an entity of BiH.
"We are pleased with our current involvement in peacekeeping, and we have won praise from international institutions for the missions," said Okolic.
The rotating unit has 45 members.
No case of injury or death is registered for BiH peacekeeping members in Afghanistan since BiH sent soldiers to join the peace-keeping mission, said Okolic.
So far, between 550 and 600 members of the BiH Armed Forces has participated in peace keeping operations.
