Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu on Thursday said the ongoing war crimes trial will continue despite the politics of Hefajat-e-Islam in the name of religion.
Talking to reporters at Press Information Department, the minister called on the Islamist platform for abandoning their long march towards Dhaka scheduled for Saturday.
“Protection of Islam and upholding the dignity of the Prophet (pbuh) are the responsibility of the state and its constitution, not Hefajat-e-Islamâ€, Inu said.
The minister said Hefajat stepped into the trap of BNP-Jamaat and expressed his doubt whether the Islamist platform’s activities are to protect Islam or Jamaat-e-Islam.
He alleged that some pro-Jamaat men undercover of the organisation have been plotting to stop the war crimes trial.
Hefajat-e-Islam declared their programmes not to protect Islam rather Jamaat-Shibir, Inu claimed.
Pointing finger at Shah Ahmed Shafi, the chief of Hefajat-e-Islam, the left leader said, “It’s your responsibility to talk about the recent mayhem unleashed by Jamaat-Shibir men, Sayedees’ appearance on the moon and false news of human chain by the Imams of Kaba for releasing Sayedee.â€
