Every other Estonian company buys a mobile phone, laptop or smart device for employees

50% of Estonian companies that have ten or more employees had acquired portable devices that enable Internet connection to their employees in 2012, Postimees Online cites Eutostat. In the European Union, the share was 48%. In Estonia the acquisition of mobile Internet devices - mobile phones, smartphones, laptop computers, tablet computers - depends on the company's sphere of operations as well as size. Finance and insurance companies and information and communications companies considered acquiring such devices to their employees most frequently - around three quarters of companies with at least ten employees in these spheres.

The share was the smallest in the healthcare and social welfare companies - less than a fifth of them had done that. Four fifths of companies that had at least 250 employees had acquired mobile internet devices for staff while just two fifths of companies with 10-19 employees had done that.
