The Commissioner Quetta Division and Focal Person, Kambar Dashti has categorically stated that no compromise would be made on quality of work of the construction and maintenance of the roads in Quetta.
This, he stated while chairing a weekly meeting of the supervisory committee on the construction and repair of the roads, streets and drains in Quetta here the other day.
The meeting was attended by the Director Development, Muhammad Arif Baloch, Executive Engineer, Building and Road department, besides other concerned officials and representatives of line departments.
The Commissioner on the occasion directed to testify the construction material being used in construction and repair of the city roads from the concerned laboratory as no compromise would be made on the quality of work.
He also directed to expedite the pace of work on the under completion projects of the roads and drains in the city as well as to construct the speed breakers as per the requirements near schools and hospitals so that the people may not suffer at the time of rush while crossing the roads.
He said that the supervisory committee formed for the purpose is pinning point the faults and other related issues after taking review of the development work.
He also directed to start work on the project of sewerage and sanitation during construction and repair of the roads so that any loss many not suffer after completion of the development work.
Kambar Dashti on the occasion mentioned that work of construction and maintenance of the roads is being done after completion of the sewerage line on Jaffar Khan Jamali road. After completion of the work on the sewerage line, the issues of the traffic would be resolved to a great extent, he believed.
He stressed on the need to make alternate arrangements for the traffic so as to save the commuters from the troublesome.
He said that the timely completion of the roads projects and other construction work should be completed well in time.
The consultant Asad Jan briefed the meeting about the development activities.
He said that the work is done speedily for timely completion of the development projects in Quetta city.
He said that the necessary machinery has been shifted to the Sirki road, Sariab link road and Sabzal road for carrying out the development there.
The Project Engineer and other concerned officials also briefed the meeting about the progress on different development projects.
It was unanimously decided that the development of the roads would be completed within the stipulated time and quality of development work would be ensured at all cost.
