EM in Moscow, underlines need to boost cooperation with regions in Russia

On a working visit in Moscow today, Economy Minister Daniels Pavluts accented the necessity of developing economic cooperation with Russia's regions, as well as upgrading border-crossing procedures.

In his meetings with officials, including Russian Deputy Minister for Regional Development Sergei Vahrukov, Pavluts pointed out that the Russian market is of great importance to Latvian businessmen. "Trade between Russia and Latvia is growing, last year by 20.5%," he explained. Newer avenues must be sought despite this, the minister added.
