Lithuania's official reserve assets shrink by 17.6 pct in March

At the end of March 2013, official reserve assets made up LTL 19.5 billion (EUR 5.6 billion). They decreased by LTL 4.2 billion (EUR 1.2 billion), or 17.6 percent, in March and decreased by LTL 1.2 billion (EUR 348 million), or 5.9 percent, during twelve months, the Bank of Lithuania reports.

Such changes in the official reserve assets in March were influenced by the LTL 4.1 billion (EUR 1.18 billion) decrease in central government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania. The reserves decreased additionally on account of the LTL 206.9 million (EUR 60 million) less external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania, as well as LTL 193.4 million (EUR 56 million) in other factors.
