The whole country will continue to experience mixture of sunny and rainy weather due to localizedthunderstorms, according to Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astromical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday.
PAGASA said the easterlies continues to affect the eastern sections of the country. Weather Forecaster Fernando Cada explained that the convective activity brought about by intense heat will trigger the formation of more cumulonimbus clouds or dark clouds associated with thunderstorms.
When these clouds get heavy, Cada said water will then fall into the form of rains accompanied by thunder and lighting.
He noted that local convective activities or localized thunderstorms are frequent during this season due to the prevailing easterlies or the “warm and moist” winds from the east that started blowing into the country this month.
Cada said the easterlies will be the dominant weather system in the country in the following days. In its advisory, PAGASA said that Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country including Metro Manila will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms. PAGASA also said that moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.
