Plenary debate progresses on Bill on Amendments to Privileges Act

The Sixteenth Session of the First Sitting of the Majlis heard the plenary debate on Bill on Amendments to Parliamentary Privileges Act (No. 5/2013), which was tabled by Abdulla Mausoom, MP for Kelaa. 8 MPs spoke on the Bill yesterday.

17 MPs also spoke on the Government’s bill on Sexual Harassment which was presented to the Majlis floor by Rozaina Adam, MP, for Thulusdhoo.

Yesterday’s Sitting of the Majlis heard the First Reading of three Bills: the Bill on Amendments to the Tourism Act (No. 2/99) tabled by Riyaz Rasheed, MP for Vilufushi, the Bill on Amendments to Privileges and Protection of Former Presidents Act (No. 9/2009) tabled by Riyaz Rasheed, MP, for Vilufushi and the Bill on Amendments to the Employment Act (No. 2/2008) tabled by Abdul Aziz Jamal Abu-Bakr, MP for Maavah.

The People’s Majlis will meet again today, 10 April 2013 at 9:00am.
