Sri Lanka keen to import medicines from Bangladesh

Sri Lanka expressed its interest to import medicines from Bangladesh. Sri Lankan Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena expressed the keenness during a meeting with Health Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haq at the latter’s office on Tuesday.

Appreciating the progress of the health sector in Bangladesh Maithripala said the health service of the country has improved much. “The standard of medicines produced in Bangladesh is accepted internationally. The both countries will be benefited if medicines are exported to Sri Lanka”, he said

Health Minister Ruhal Haque emphasized on initiating formal process between the two sides for exporting medicines.

State Minister for Health Dr Captain( Retd) Mujibur Rahman Fakir, health secretary MM Niajuddin and senior officials of Health Ministry were present.
