The chairperson of the management committee at Keetmanshoop council Willie Kotze might be recalled by his party on allegations that he does not cooperate with fellow party members in the committee.

This means he will no more work as chairperson of the committee should the party decide to recall him.

Kotze is representing the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) in the southern council and has allegedly been ignoring advises from other RDP councillors and instead supports Swapo councillors decisions.

One of the RDP regional leaders admitted to Nampa upon enquiry Tuesday that the party leadership from the head office in Windhoek delegated the regional secretary Simon Jantze to investigate Kotze on this matter.

The source who prefers not to be named added that the matter has been dragging on for about a year now, but investigations started in February this year.

“Jantze is the one asked to investigate the matter and sent recommendations for Kotze to be recalled if found guilty,” he said.

Approached for comments Tuesday Jantze and Kotze could not confirm or deny the allegations.

“I cannot say anything about that issue at this moment,” Jantze responded.

Deputy Secretary for Information and Publicity for the RDP Nghiningilwandumbo Kashume said such allegations did not reach his office yet, but advised party members to cooperate and avoid such situations.

“Another thing that I want to mention is that we want our members to run the offices free of intimidations from the public or other political party members,” Kashume added.

(edited)KEETMANSHOOP: The chairperson of the Keetmanshoop municipal council’s management committee Willie Kotze might be recalled by his party on allegations that he does not cooperate with fellow party members in the committee.

This means he will no longer work as chairperson of the committee, should the party decide to recall him.

Kotze is representing the opposition Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) in the committee, and has allegedly been ignoring advice from other RDP councillors, instead supporting ruling Swapo-Party councillors’ decisions.

One of the RDP’s regional leaders admitted to Nampa upon enquiry on Tuesday that the party leadership from the head office in Windhoek delegated regional secretary Simon Jantze to investigate Kotze on this matter.

The source, who prefers not to be identified, said this matter has been dragging on for about a year now, but investigations started only in February this year.

“Jantze is the one asked to investigate the matter, and to send recommendations for Kotze to be recalled, if found guilty,” he explained.

Approached for comment, both Jantze and Kotze refused to confirm or deny the allegations.

“I cannot say anything about that issue at this moment,” Jantze responded.

The Deputy Secretary for Information and Publicity of the RDP, Nghiningilwandumbo Kashume, said such allegations have not reached his office yet, but advised party members to cooperate and avoid such situations.

“Another thing that I want to mention is that we want our members to run the offices free of intimidation from the public or other political party members,” Kashume told this agency.
