Lt. Col. Romualdo B. Landingan was named Thursday commanding officer for the 8th Infantry Battalion, a field unit of the 4th Infantry Division headquartered in Camp Evangelista, Cagayan De Oro City.
The change of command ceremony took place at Silva Hall of the 8th Infantry Battalion headquarter's at South Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon, military sources in Manila said.
Prior his designation as 8th Infantry Battalion commander, Landingan also served as the executive officer of the 401st Infantry Brigade based in Camp D.O. Plaza, Awa, New Leyte, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.
He replaced Lt. Col. Jose Maria R. Cuerpo who completed the two years stint for a battalion commander position and will be designated as the assistant chief of staff for personnel, (G-1) of the 4th Infantry Division.
Landingan, in his assumption speech, vowed to give his best and continue what his predecessor has done in leading the unit.
He also inspired the personnel to join him in making the unit sustain its successes if not surpass its previous accomplishments.
