The Pakistan Navy ship Shahjahan will arrive at Port of Salalah (PoS) on April 13 on a five-day visit. The vessel will be welcomed by senior officials from Oman's military and civilian authorities, according to a statement from the Pakistani Embassy in Muscat.
Formerly the Type-21 frigate HMS Active of the UK Royal Navy, the vessel was decommissioned in 1994 and sold to Pakistan where it was renamed PNS Shahjahan.
Weighing around 3,200 tonnes, the vessel carries a variety of armaments, including missile and gun systems. While berthed at PoS, the vessel will be open for visitors and will also host an evening dinner reception on board. The vessel is commanded by Capt Muhammad Irfan Taj of the Pakistan Navy.
