Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) will launch an assault on opposition strongholds in the state to ensure the party's victory in the general election.
Chairman Teng Chang Yeow said BN will hold briefing sessions to convince voters in opposition strongholds that the BN manifesto is the best for the people.
"The BN election machinery must work hard to reclaim Penang from the opposition. We will launch an assault on opposition strongholds and capture them," he told reporters after opening the 4B Youth Movement operation room here Wednesday night.
The Penang BN manifesto would be launched next week after the names of candidates for the general election were announced on Saturday or Sunday.
The manifesto focuses on improving the income of people in rural areas, retain traditional villages and to restore Penang's free port status.
Teng said Penang BN will fulfil all its promises if given the mandate by the people.
"The Penang BN manifesto is a bit different than the manifesto announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak which focuses on the national agenda to meet the people's needs."
Teng urged members of BN component parties to support the candidates chosen to contest the general election to ensure victory for the party.
"Don't think of the candidates as what matters most is the party. We have to support and vote for BN because we want Penang back," he added.
