The UAE and international companies across various sectors expressed mutual interest in cooperation and partnerships as Hannover Messe 2013 in Germany went into its third day.
Twenty-four UAE public and private sector organizations are participating in Hannover Messe, the world's most important industrial and trade fair. The participation is organised by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Economy.
ADDED and Ministry of Economy officials witnessed significant German and international interest in establishing business relations with private and government entities in the UAE. UAE-based companies discussed prospects of stronger industrial and technological cooperation with leading German and international businesses. Several key meetings were held with representatives of international investment and development companies at the UAE Pavilion within the effort to strengthen economic ties with the world and diversify the UAE economy. The Ministry of Economy and ADDED provide services and facilities for UAE private and public companies to build strategic business relationships with their counterparts all over the world.
Hannover Messe is an ideal platform for government officials and business leaders worldwide to network and build strategic partnerships. The UAE Pavilion spans over 650 square meters and is located in the heart of the exhibition. More than 6,000 exhibitors from all parts of the world take part in the exhibition, which is visited by more than 200,000 people over its five days.
German and UAE companies expressed mutual interest to cooperate, Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), the industrial and logistics zone located in Abu Dhabi, have announced the signing of a 50-year lease agreement with Bauer International, part of the German multinational Bauer Group.
The announcement was made by Alexander Haex, Vice President of Business Development at Kizad at the 65th anniversary of the Hannover Messe exhibition, Germany's leading industrial and technology global trade fair.
Speaking from the exhibition, Mr. Haex commented: "We are pleased to welcome Bauer to Kizad - a German multinational with a global reach and growing Middle Eastern commitments. Bauer joins a list of blue-chip investors that recognise the benefits and advantages we are offering at Kizad, in Abu Dhabi's only dedicated and integrated industrial zone. Kizad's strategic geographical location, access to global markets, and low operating costs are just some of the reasons why Bauer has taken the decision to be based at Kizad," added Haex.
Commenting on the announcement, Bauer's Regional Managing Director, Riaz H. Malik, said: "With a growing demand from existing and future projects, in the UAE and the Middle East '&' North African region, this specialist service, logistic and service support centre will offer on-going support to Bauer International's developing operations and aspirations in the region. Being based at Kizad will clearly provide Bauer with genuine competitive edge, operational effectiveness and added value to our customers. Kizad Project supplements our long term strategic plans in the region".
In keeping with the national Economic Vision 2021 and Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, which advocate strong public-private partnerships, the UAE delegation to Hannover Messe comprises a mix of government and private organizations across various sectors. Through the participation in the fair, ADDED provides companies from Abu Dhabi and other Emirates with the opportunity to develop their industrial and technological potential and help diversify the national economy and transfer technology to the UAE.

The UAE is Germany's first trading partner in the Middle East, with bilateral trade increasing by 120% between 2004 and 2011, from 3.9 billion Euro to approximately 8.5 billion Euro. More than 1,000 German companies operate in the UAE.
