Turkey's leading Internet service provider and entertainment company TTNET has launched two new web services to pave the way for a more extensive domestic e-trading platform, in a move to add flesh to the bones of its 360 Vision that it officially adopted in February.
The new services were introduced at a press conference in İstanbul on Wednesday with the participation of TTNET General Manager Abdullah Orkun Kaya and Turk Telekom Group CEO Hakam Kanafani. In his speech, Kaya underlined the company's ambition to have a more solid presence in all Internet-based digital platforms, the underlying objective of its 360 vision. To this end, the company has been focusing for some time on developing services, and the two websites are the first results of these attempts, he noted. However, the company is not that willing to set sail along the vast Internet alone; it wants to take every step together with strong business partners that have experience in areas that make life easier and more effective through online services.
The first website is www.ttnetcarsi.com.tr, which primarily aims to excel in marketing TTNET's products and services with price tags lighter than those in conventional sales channels. For Kaya, this site will be the admiral ship of the company in its marketing side. What is more, customers will be able to find some products or services only on this online medium.
The other site, www.okacabukaca.com, will provide what Kaya calls a “smart trade platform” for users to compare the prices of over 130,000 products in 13 main categories, sold by 50 online stores, and to choose the best deal. TTNET aims to increase the number of these stores to 150 in a short time.
This site is entering the market as a rival to several websites that are already offering the same services and are widely popular. Kaya said the distinguishing feature of their platform will basically be the content. In addition to this, he added, the site will allow its users to share detailed comments on the products so that shoppers will be able to review the feedback from past buyers both about the products and the online stores. “
Under TTNET 360 vision, we are rapidly becoming a solution partner for our customers with such websites. They will contribute to the development of digital platforms in Turkey,” Kaya said. He also added that a number of similar services are in the making at the moment and that the announcements for their launches will soon be made.
Kanafani also delivered a speech to underline the rise of the Internet as a commercial phenomenon not only on the demand side but also on the supply side. TTNET's 360 Vision is significant from this viewpoint, he said.
