The United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for Turkmenistan for 2010-2015 was reviewed at an annual meeting in Ashgabat.
The meeting discussed the results achieved in 2012 within the UNDAF and defined prospects of cooperation for the current year.
The meeting was attended by members of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan, representatives of a number of ministries and departments, public associations, as well as the heads and staff of UN agencies accredited in Ashgabat. The meeting was chaired by the UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Ms. Jacinta Barrins.
The leaders and representatives of the ministries and department made presentations on the progress achieved in implementing UNDAF, including bringing national legislation and mechanisms of its implementation in line with the basic principles of international instruments in the field of human rights, reported Turkmenistan.ru.
