The 3rd Infantry Division, which is based in Camp Macario Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz, pledged to be non-partisan this coming May 13 elections even as it vowed to do everything in its authority to ensure that electoral exercises in its area will be peaceful and incident free.
“We are carrying a big responsibility in this electoral process and that is our commitment to insure that our troops here in Western Visayas strictly observe the conduct of honest, orderly and peaceful elections and to remain apolitical and non-partisan at all times," 3rd Infantry Division commander Major Gen. Jose Z. Mabanta, Jr., said.
He also added his command remains committed in its mandate to support the police and the Commission in Elections in its implementation of election laws. “Aside from the implementation of election laws, the only political exercise that we are allowed to do during this coming election is to vote," Mabanta stressed.
