A Jamaat worker, who was injured in a clash in Boda upazila during a daylong hartal called by Islami Chhatra Shibir on Thursday, died at a hospital on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abu Taleb, 28, son of Sadek Ali of Badeshwari Sarkarpara village in the upazila. Local Jamaat-e-Islami claimed Abu Taleb as their activist.
Police said seven people, including Taleb, were injured in the clash, which took place as the ruling party men went to resist Shibir’s countrywide hartal here on Thursday morning. Two of the injured, Taleb and Hakim, were rushed to a local hospital. Later, they were shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where Taleb succumbed to his injures at about 6pm on Saturday.
