Pinterest has launched an analytics dashboard to help track traffic to the site.

The image curation site said that the new analytics tool would help brands better understand the popularity of their product or content.

The tool will track how many users pinned content and how many people saw the pins.

"We think that these tools will help website owners understand what's working for them and what’s not so that they can create even better pins in the future," wrote Pinterest software engineer, Tao Tao, in a blog post, reported Entrepreneur.

"Today's announcement builds on the set of tools we offer for website owners including business accounts, Pin It buttons and board widgets," Tao Tao went on to write according to PCMag.

Users can look at the analytics of their account and download it to review it offline.

Pinterest was valued at $2.5 billion last month.

It was just given $200 in additional funding recently.

Wired said the launch was another move toward monetizing the website.

Pinterest does not make money off the value it creates for brands and analytics may help convince brands to advertise on the site in the long term.
