BOJ's Kuroda to visit disaster-hit Miyagi, Fukushima prefectures

Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda will visit Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures in northeastern Japan on Sunday and Monday to exchange views with officials of the bank's branches as well as local businesses in areas severely hit by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami, the central bank said Friday.

Kuroda is set to visit the BOJ's branches in the cities of Sendai and Fukushima and a seafood processing company in the city of Ishinomaki in Miyagi, the central bank said.

It will be Kuroda's first visit to disaster-hit areas since he assumed his post on March 20.
