Three Chinese maritime surveillance ships sailed in Japanese territorial waters Saturday near the Senkaku Islands, which are controlled by Japan and claimed by China, the Japan Coast Guard said.
The three vessels -- the Haijian 23, 49 and 51 -- entered the territorial waters in the East China Sea around 9:30 a.m. and left there around 2:10 p.m., according to the 11th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture.
