Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda will make a three-day visit to Seoul from Thursday to take part in the Korea-Japan Forum, an annual gathering of the two countries' lawmakers and experts, an official of the forum said Wednesday.
During his stay in Seoul with Japanese lawmakers of ruling and opposition parties, Fukuda is arranging a meeting with South Korean President Park Geun Hye, the official said.
Seiko Noda, head of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party's General Council, former Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara of the opposition Democratic Party of Japan and Isamu Ueda of the New Komeito party, the LDP's coalition partner, are among the lawmakers who will attend the forum, according to the official.
The former premier met with Park in February as he participated in her inauguration ceremony.
