U.S. President Barack Obama will visit the Philippines next month to hold talks with his Philippine counterpart about ways of boosting Washington's ties with Manila, a Philippine official said Saturday.
Edwin Lacierda, spokesman of President Benigno Aquino, said Obama will visit Manila on Oct. 11-12 on Aquino's invitation.
"President Obama will meet President Aquino to discuss ways to further strengthen the enduring Philippines-U.S. alliance, including the expansion of our security, economic, and people-to-people ties," Lacierda said.
