North Korea on Wednesday organized a two-day international conference on its development, with a major focus on foreign investment and special economic zones.
The event in Pyongyang, attended by economists from countries including Canada, India and the United States, is being hosted by the Economic Development Association, which was set up in June as part of the country's efforts to attract more foreign investment.
The association is also to provide more information on special economic zones with tax breaks in North Korea for overseas entities.
In particular, North Korea has recently been stepping up its efforts to develop a special economic zone in Rason in the country's northeast.
