Kishida talks with Britain, German foreign ministers about Ukraine

Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said he talked by phone on Thursday with the foreign ministers of Britain and Germany to discuss the situation in Ukraine, and told them that Tokyo will consider providing economic assistance to the country.

During separate talks with British Foreign Secretary William Hague and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Kishida also said it is important for all parties to exert restraint and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Ukraine.

Kishida and the two foreign ministers agreed to cooperate toward achieving a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.
