A Venezuelan diplomat is accused of murdering Venezuela's ambassador to Kenya, BBC News reported. Dwight Sagaray, who was the Venezuelan embassy's first secretary, was charged with murder on Monday in Nairobi, Kenya. The victim, Olga Fonseca, was found strangled to death at her residence in Nairobi on July 27.

Fonseca's predecessor, Gerardo Carrillo Silva, also had problems with Sagaray. Carrillo told a Venezuelan newspaper that after the suspect arrived to Kenya in 2010, "he refused to recognize my authority," according to the Associated Press

Carrillo left his post and was soon faced with allegations of sexual harassment, a charge that he denies. Fonseca replaced Carrillo and immediately developed a sour relationship with embassy staff, a police source told the AP. Police said they believe the motive behind Fonseca's killing was a battle for power in the embassy.

Kenyan Mohammed Ahmed and two security guards have also been charged in connection with the murder, the AFP reported
