Nigeria church bombing kills three in Jos

In the latest attack on a Nigerian church, a suicide car bomber killed three people in Jos Sunday, the Associated Press said

The attack happened during an early morning service at the Church of Christ in the heart of the city and killed a father and child in addition to the bomber, officials told the AP.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, the latest in a string that have plagued Nigerian congregations for years.

The BBC expects Boko Haram may emerge as a leading suspect.

The radical Islamist sect has been carrying out increasingly bloody attacks across Nigeria, several of them at churches. It claimed responsibility for a Christmas Day bombing of a Catholic church that killed 44 people in the town of Madalla and a Christmas Eve attack that killed 80 in Jos.
