Body parts mailed to Vancouver schools likely belonged to Lin Jun, a Chinese student allegedly killed in Montreal by Luka Rocco Magnotta, police said today.

Magnotta, the so-called “Canadian Psycho,” remains in a German jail awaiting his extradition back to Canada to face a raft of charges, including murder.

BC police decided to give the case to their Montreal counterparts “late Tuesday after Vancouver police homicide investigators noted that the packaging and addresses on the boxes sent to Vancouver was similar to that of the packages discovered earlier this week in eastern Canada,” The Globe and Mail reported.

A private boys’ prep school and a public elementary school in Vancouver each received ghastly packages in the mail on Tuesday.

St. George’s School received a foot, while False Creek Elementary received a hand.

Montreal police are awaiting forensic identification, but are certain the body parts belonged to Lin, the Toronto Star said.

Montreal police Cmdr. Ian Lafreniere said the packages originated in Montreal.

“Everything leads us to believe it’s related,” he told the Star.

Police believe Magnotta killed Lin on May 24, recording the killing and posting it online.

He’s alleged to have cannibalized and sexually violated the corpse before fleeing to Paris.

Magnotta is also believed to have mailed a hand and foot to Canadian political offices.

German police arrested Magnotta in Berlin on Monday.

While investigators in Montreal found Lin’s torso, they said his head, a hand and foot were still missing.

Lin’s family arrived in Montreal from China this week, the Montreal Gazette said.

“The disturbing contents, a right hand and a right foot from an as yet unidentified victim, will be sent to Montreal today for further forensic examination,” police said in a statement, the Gazette reported.
