Giant wave kills tourist in Mexico

A giant wave killed a tourist walking along the beach back to her hotel in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

A giant wave struck a pair of tourists walking on a beach in Mexico, killing the woman and seriously injuring her companion.

The pair was walking back to their hotel in Cabo San Lucas when they were hit by the wave Tuesday and dragged out to sea, The Associated Press reported.

Both were rescued by Navy personnel.

The 65-year-old woman was pronounced brain dead at the scene, while the 70-year-old man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, the International Business Times reported.

Authorities reported findng a Wisconsin driver's license on the woman, and a Nebraska driver's license on the man.

It's not known where they were currently living or whether next of kin had been notified, the Christian Post reported.

The man remained in serious condition at a local hospital.

The drowning comes nearly two months after a pair of Massachusetts women drowned near their resort in Cancun.
